WALL•E

After seeing the absolutely stunning WALL•E, I’m definitely putting Hello Dolly on my Blockbuster queue. I caught a late showing of the latest Pixar film on Tuesday, heading in with the highest of expectations. And the movie delivered. It had everything we’ve all come to expect from Disney/Pixar films. It never ceases to amaze me how original their ideas are, how they are able to make just about anything cute, and how they continue to churn out such gems. WALL•E is a movie about a trash-collecting robot with a cockroach as his only friend. How less intriguing can a character sound? Instead, you get a character that’s so sweetly heroic that he charms himself into even the skeptic’s heart. Top-notch animation and sound design and a great love story contribute to the wonder of the film as well. Easily the best summer movie I have seen yet. How many other synonyms for amazing do I need to put into this post to convey how much I love this movie? I’m seeing it again later today, and I can’t wait.

Did God have a hand in the creation of the world? Of course. It’s very simple, you see. The idea that everything that is came from random mutations and ages of evolution is very scientifically improbable. The mere fact that our DNA is encoded in so perfect a way is proof enough that there is more method in the universe than madness. Intelligent design, random mutations, evolution? Just have some faith, and you will see it. Earth is so beautifully made, and we have no one to be grateful to but to God.

Five Reasons Why I Like This Movie
1. It’s funny. Really funny. I like that it has subtle humor, as well as some physical humor. I remember that it had the theatre laughing quite loudly when I first saw it, which is always a nice environment to watch a comedy in. It’s so awkward when something that is supposed to be funny gets a pathetic reaction. But that’s another story.
2. Great music placed at the right moments. Where Do You Go To My Lovely, especially. And I love Aux Champs Elysees at the end there.
3. It’s gorgeous. It really pays tribute to the India’s beauty and traditions. Makes me really want to get a car in a train and spend a few days travelling the Indian countryside. Or any countryside, really.
4. The fact that there’s a man-eating tiger in it. Again, mixing the subtle with the ridiculous. Come on now, you know you love it.
5. Adrien Brody as Peter Whitman. I’ve never really found him to be attractive, but he sure is in this movie. Love the lankiness, the big sunglasses, those pink boxers, and that suit. And Peter has some of the best lines of the movie.
So yeah, I recommend this movie.

And in a perfect world
A miracle would happen
And that day would finally be here.
And it’d be me and you
Riding it together
And the things we do
Going like we planned.
We’re gonna make it through,
And nothing else will matter.
We’ll be fine, we’re fine,
We’re fine, we’re fine, we’re fine, we’re fine,
We’re fine.

I know that the clouds must clear
And that the sun will rise
And that the sun will rise.
Hey everyone. That’s from Disney’s THE LION KING. But the quote at the top of my page is from LES MISERABLES.
People find my wordpress through the most random keywords on Google.

I wish I could go back to college.
Life was so simple back then.
What would I give to go back and live in a dorm with a meal plan again!
I wish I could go back to college.
In college you know who you are.
You sit in the quad, and think, “Oh my God!
I am totally gonna go far!”
How do I go back to college?
I don’t know who I am anymore!
I wanna go back to my room and find a message in dry-erase pen on the door!
Ohhh…
I wish I could just drop a class…
Or get into a play…
Or change my major…
Or fuck my T.A.
I need an academic advisor to point the way!
We could be…
Sitting in the computer lab,
4 A.M. before the final paper is due,
Cursing the world ’cause I didn’t start sooner,
And seeing the rest of the class there, too!
I wish I could go back to college!
How do I go back to college?!
AHHHH…
I wish I had taken more pictures.
But if I were to go back to college,
Think what a loser I’d be-
I’d walk through the quad,
And think “Oh my God…”
“These kids are so much younger than me.”

I like boys with strong convictions
and convicts with perfect diction
underdogs with good intentions
amputees with stamp collections.
You’re so nice and you’re so smart
you’re such a good friend
I have to break your heart
tell you that I love you then I’ll tear your world apart
just pretend I didn’t tear your world apart.

And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes
Like puzzle pieces from the clay.
True, it may seem like a stretch
But it’s thoughts like this that
Catch my troubled head when you’re away
When I am missing you to death.
They will see us waving from such great heights
“Come down now,” they’ll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
“Come down now,” but we’ll stay…

Earlier today, I thought, I want to start up blogging again. So I decided to create an account here for my expendable ramblings. Although occasionally, I might even write about something intelligent. We’ll see!
